Just finished reading some of the stories from other readers and decided
to send you a letter about Web Tv I own a 40 acre horse farm in Oklahoma
where we break, train and sell horses as well as riding instruction and
other horsey projects. I always tried to find a way to sell my horses out
of state as my reference sells horses locally. I have now sold many horses
and ponies out of state and always have people writing to me. I used to
go to bed at 8 PM every night and now Im lucky if I see the bed by 2 AM
When I heard about the Web Tv I saved for several weeks in order to be
able to purchase one but because of this web tv and the internet my web
tv has paid for itself many times over and I mean that many times over.
I have met the best friends that I have ever had and since December when
I bought the web tv for myself as a christ mas present I have watched possibly
5 total hours of tv (no kidding) I really need to know when the printer
is coming out and than I will be in for sure heaven. Once again don't know
whose idea the web was but that person was a total brain and I sincerely
Thank him or her Just recently my parents in Florida purchased the web
also and we talk to each other every night which now I feel close to my
family although being far away. My neice and my parents and I talk almost
every night not counting the best friend I have ever made Keep up the good
work and let us know about the printer as soon as its available
(We're glad to hear it, and thanks for the positive feedback. Please
call Sony or Philips for infomation about the printer adapter!)
I am deep into genealogy on my birth father & the Web has been a
big help. I now contact people all over the US and also in Belgium where
my father was born. I met a Belgian friend through the Web and he has helped
me in my search. Just two weeks ago, I was fortunate enough to go to Belgium
and I met him. Small world! This has saved me much money in phone calls
and is quicker than the mail. Also, I do not have to worry about updating.
Welcome to my home!
(The Internet seems to go hand in hand with genealogy. Your're not the
first to be re-united through the World Wide Web!)
I got on-line about 5 days ago. This is the coolest machine!!! I decided
to look up a childhood friend that I haven't seen since I was 11 years
old. In only 15 minutes I was able to locate him and that's something I
haven't been able to do in almost 20 years. I accomplished this on my second
outing into the internet! :-) I purchased my unit at Sears for $350 including
a keyboard, their own maintence agreements, and tax. I'm still discovering
new capabilities. This is an awesome machine!!! I'm also impressed with
the moderated newsgroups that ya'll provide. It's great to be able to talk
to your moderator and the other helpful folks out there about the good
experiences and those awful frustrations with the new technology that plague
us newbies. Thanks so much for the device and the outstanding service.
(You betcha. These are the stories that we love around here. It confirms
that we have made the WebTV Network easy to use and most importantly useful!)
Just a few comments: 1) I bought WEBTV about 3 months ago, but figured
the novelty would wear off soon (I'm one to buy gadgets that end up in
the "gadget graveyard"). Not so with WEBTV - the more I see the
more I use it!! It's amazing how much information is out there - it reminds
me of looking up in awe at all of the stars in the galaxy. I know I wouldn't
enjoy an AOL-type service where I'd have to sit at a desk in front of a
computer, but with WEBTV I just sit back in my bedroom recliner with my
feet up and have a ball. A couple of days ago, I sat my dad down in the
recliner with the WEBTV remote. He loved it. I imagine he's probably purchased
the WEBTV by now, or will own one by Father's Day! I told him there were
no toll-free numbers yet in his area, but he said he didn't care. My parents
have AOL, but don't use if often because it's not real comfortable sitting
at a desk straining their eyes. I suspect they'll be cancelling their AOL
service as soon as they buy the WEBTV. 2) Being able to accept incoming
calls while on WEBTV is pure genious. Of all the exciting things I tell
people about the WEBTV, this gets everyone's attention. They can hardly
believe it. You should advertise that feature more - I never see any mention
of it! 3) It would be nice if I could save more than 36 favorites, considering
how many web pages are out there. Is this a possibility in a future upgrade?
4) WEBTV support has been wonderful. They always get back with detailed
answers, usually the same day, and are extremely courteous. 5) Will WEBTV
stock go public someday? I'm not into buying stocks, etc., but would put
my money on WEBTV any day! Thanks for a GREAT product, and for your continuous
efforts to make it even better!
(You are very welcome. How about 600 favorites?)
congratulations to the masterminds behind the development of webtv and
all the support staff who makes webtv #1...i bought my webtv mid april
and i am on it usually no less than 5 hours a day...at first my husband
said i was hooked/addicted and my reply to him was that at least i was
learning and he was not...after being on the web a couple of weeks my husband
finally has joined me and i thought our marriage was great to begin with
but webtv has brought us even closer..thank you and again for a job well
done to all of you at webtv...ps i have needed to call the webtv 800# a
couple of times and had spoken to very nice reps and very pleased and satisfied
with their answers..keep up the great work ...
(Thanks! WebTV Networks - we can improve your marriage! ;-) Actually, improving marital bliss was a planned feature from the start. Wait for the dog training upgrade!)
I know there are similar people out there feeling our loss. We made
the big mistake by leaving our remote out for one day, yes one day - and;
well, our bearded collie appeared to enjoy webtv as much as we do. Needless
to say, we are without. What is the quickest way to obtain a new remote
and also at what price are we talking about. Moka is still smiling but
I wish her mommies can do the same. Help! and thanks.
(Which web site was the bearded collie on? We've seen similar cases when viewing certain kitty sites. Please do not allow dogs to visit sites
of this nature without supervision!)
so many great ideas so many great sites to visit from your playground
and serendipity how do i visit them all, have all this fun and still keep
somewhat of a normal life outside the web. I think i just figured it out
normal life is the web all the rest is just a dream. I'm just kidding guys
great job. kidding guys great job.
(Thanks! Who wants a "normal" life anyway?)
After I became addicted to my webtv at home, I purchased one for the
university where I teach. I now bring webtv into the classroom at the University
of Nevada, Las Vegas - to surf the web with the students studying hotel
catering management and convention planning. We explore industry related
sites.
I am also taping surfing sessions to show at some conventions where
I am a speaker on utilizing the web. This way I don't need a computer hookup,
I don't have to worry about not being able to connect to a site in front
of an audience - and I don't tape the part where the graphics are loading,
speeding up the presentation.
I also bought one for my mother for Mother's Day. I love webtv.
(Alright! That's great, and we want to see more of this. The Internet is an incredible resource and it's good to see that you have discovered the
potential of the WebTV Internet terminal: learning more! Mom will be in awe!)
I just wanted to say that all your efforts have paid off in the great
service you are providing. This is the best money I think I have ever spent
and many of my friends agree as well. Once again thanks for all the hard
work you have put in perfecting your excellent service! Thank You
(No, no, thank you! :-) )
Thank you for the warm welcome. I am writing to say thanks for coming
up with such a wonderful product. I was at work one morning and I saw the
WebTv logo floating on the screen and I said to myself I wonder what that
is about. Just a couple of weeks prior I had been exposed to the internet
for the first time and was amazed and overwhelmed at all of the information
I had access to. Of course, I was using the computers at my college library
and access time is limited. I was fortunate enough to catch about half
of the infomercial on CNBC one Sunday afternoon after seeing the product
at work and was totally blown away when I learned that I could have unlimited
access to the internet any time I want ( I really like that) and e-mail(I
really, really like that) without having to invest thousands of dollars
in a computer which I can't afford. I have now become a WebTV junkie. :)
Thanks again.
(No problem. The hypnotic floating logo gets 'em all the time.)
