The Playground welcomes you to the month of May! It's the time of year when people get together and drink too much beer in the sun, burning their skin to a crisp, and serving food too late in the afternoon next to a large body of water. That reminds me -- I have to call my friends!

All joking aside, I love this time of year. Some of my most memorable experiences have taken place in spring, like the time I was broad-sided by a beach cruiser while crossing the street in Nanjing, China. Ahhhh, spring. Or the time I was mistaken for another, more inebriated and obnoxious American in the south of Spain and was jumped by a group of Spanish hooligans and beat to a pulp. Ahhhh, spring. And I do believe it was spring when a friend and I were arrested in Mexico for "air" skateboarding and spent the night in a cold, dark jail five miles outside of a small Baja town. Don't get me wrong though, by the end of each trip I was glad I chose to travel in spring. And besides it was late summer when I had to spend three days at the Bangkok International Airport with no money and only a cold marble floor to sleep on. I can always count on spring to bring me new and exciting adventures.

This spring I think I'll stay in California and get some housework done. Or maybe move to San Francisco if can find a nice one bedroom apartment with wood floors and a panoramic view... hint... hint. Oh, forget it... I'll just go to the barbecue next weekend and see how many sun-baked weenies I can eat.

Now get ready to spring into this month's sites!

The Three Stooges: A great site, full of information that anyone with a funny-bone will find amusing. The publisher provides the reader with detailed accounts of the lives of the Stooges as well as a couple of filmographies that cover every movie and short they ever did. Unfortunately there is a sounds page that isn't yet supported by the WebTV Network, but will be soon! The rest of the site is so good I just couldn't wait.

Comedy Central: This page is just as funny as the cable channel -- the difference being that you choose what's on! Information on the many shows and features of Comedy Central can be found here, accompanied by hilariously detailed tidbits. The people who run this site are my kind of people... totally insane!

Vikram's Midifest: This page will make up for the sound you couldn't get at The Three Stooges site. This is MTV midi style, a rock 'n' roll party. I'll be dancing to this at parties this year! You can find anything from Roy Orbison to U2 here, and everything in between.

Superman Radio Serial: When the image comes up on your screen just click on the family sitting next to the radio and then sit back and enjoy. The sound quality reminded me of the old radio shows, which adds to the experience. The shows are about fifteen minutes long with a new episode featured each week.

*Paul McCartney Recording History: This is an extensive site on the recording history of Paul McCartney, and was created by a WebTV Network user! It's a year by year study that includes everything the ex-Beatle did in his post Fab-Four days.

Each Movie: Wondering what movie to rent this Friday? Let this site make that decision for you. This clever little page has you rate movies that you have already seen, and with that information gives you suggestions as to what movies you might like to see. Sounds confusing? It's not, it's just early and I'm having trouble forming sentences that make sense. This site will make a lot more sense if you take a look at it!

Spinal Tap: The home page for one of the wackiest bands in the world. They are truly clowns and this is truly entertaining stuff. If you don't know who these guys are, take a few minutes and surf through this hilarious page. And if you get a chance you should check out their movie -- it's non-stop stomach-cramping laughter!

The Ultimate Band List: The title is a little misleading, because there's a lot more than just band stuff here. You can do searches for record labels, radio stations, record stores, clubs and concerts, and much more. If you're not sure when your favorite band is coming to town, take a look here. Gonna be in another city next week and not sure what the happening radio station is? Look no further...

Arthur's Friends Quotes: Arthur, the creator of this page, has spent some serious time paying very close attention to the hit show Friends. I laughed out loud as I went through the quotes pages. He also provides a couple of still pictures from actual episodes. That Chandler...he really cracks me up! HaHaHa!

MIDI Karaoke!: I personally took this site for a test drive over the weekend. Gather up your friends and some food and a little drink, and fire up the Karaoke! The selection of songs isn't very extensive, but they are good and it changes every couple of weeks. Be careful though; we found out the hard way just how well cotton socks glide over a well-buffed hardwood floor. Slip-sliding away!

*Eddie Fadal's Elvis Presley Museum: This page was created to tell some stories. Eddie Fadal was an old friend of Elvis' who passed away a couple of years ago. This museum, as it's called, has some neat stories and links to other Elvis pages. You know... there just aren't enough Elvis pages out there. I can't seem to find very many. This one was sent in by a Club WebTV member.
