(And other cool links)

Welcome to The Playground, where each month you'll find useful information on the world of entertainment. As a musician and an Elvis fanatic, I feel a certain obligation to bring our members quality entertainment information. But, don't worry -- you won't be bombarded with dozens of links to Elvis pages, at least not all at once. I pledge to include one Elvis site a month and not one more. I must be strong and resist all temptation!

What better way to enjoy your WebTV Internet terminal than to surf the best entertainment sites on the Internet?
Each month I'll let you know how I'm doing, (Hi Mom...Hi Dad!) and give you some great sites to look at. There are literally millions of sites on the Internet about entertainment, so your help in finding these thought provoking sites is encouraged. If you come across a really exceptional entertainment site, please send them to me at Club WebTV.

Now with all of that in mind, sit back, squeeze the remote with confidence, and enjoy this months' featured sites!

The Playground Features:

  • Entertainment Weekly Online:
Somebody shrunk Hollywood and stuffed it into this site! From the Oscars race to the X-Files and....back to the Oscar race again, it's a long race. This site also a parents' guide to the movies section, and much, much more!
  • The Music of Cyberspace:
This is a very interesting site that combines computer generated new age music with wacky pictures of who knows what! The numerous selections offer something for all music lovers, covering every style imaginable. Be careful though! I discovered that if you stare at the screen while listening to the music at a high volume, your boss will slap you upside your head! If this happens to you, I want to be the first to know what your boss was doing hanging out in your living room.
  • The Classical Midi Archives:
If this site, a silver platter of cheese and crackers and the warm glow of a cozy fire aren't a classical setting, I don't know what is! However, a two-day old tuna sandwich, a six-pack of Pabst Blue Ribbon, and a tattered blanket spread gently on the warm hood of a '64 Impala will do just as well. For relaxing, you can choose the setting and let this wonderful collection of classical music do the rest.
  • Harlequin Books Horoscope Page:
For those of you who like to know how great or how terrible the day is gonna be before it even starts, here you go. I'm not one to read my horoscope every day, but, according to Harlequin I should be tripping over a pile of money any day now! I'll keep you posted.
  • Net Central Chat:
You guessed it, this is a chat site. Here you will find sixteen rooms full of people conversing as fast as their fingers and brains will let them. And in the spirit of peace and goodwill, the publisher explains their intentions in keeping the rooms free of naughty behavior. Happy chatting! P.S. Check out The Inside Scoop for information on what will soon be the WebTV Network's very own chat rooms!
  • the ONION:
Having a rough day? Need a good chuckle to cheer you up? Never fear, because the ONION is here! I'm telling you, this is some of the craziest stuff I've ever read. And I think it's all true. The bizarre is alive and well on the Internet. I don't recommend reading this immediately after visiting the Music of Cyberspace -- the combination could disrupt normal brain behavior.
  • Elvis Presley:
Join me in a moment of silence to remember the King twenty years after his tragic death... sniff... sniff... Gotcha! I'm in such denial it's ridiculous! Elvis is alive and this site is proof! Tons of pictures, lyrics to songs, and facts galore can be found on this page. "Thank you very much ladies and gentlemen".
